Plastic bottles

Glass bottles
have a high carbon footprint to make and ship, are not easily recyclable, often contain BPA linings, and cause sulfur and nitrogen oxide (SOX + NOX) emissions.
Aluminum
is produced by open-pit mining leading to biodiversity loss, habitat loss, carbon emissions, and erosion. Huge amounts of chemicals are required to process it. Aluminum beverage containers may be lined with plastic and most canned water uses virgin aluminum.
